Hello World! Goodbye Blog!

As you may have guessed by the infrequency of my posting (the last post being almost 2 months ago) I have found little room or desire in my life for the continuation of Take Your Carriage Clock and Shove It. This is not to say I won't one day return, much like the boy-king Leonidas in 300, but just that at this moment I have found other outlets for which to express my random thoughts and experiences in the blogosphere.

The first is via Tumblr @ http://carriageclockrock.tumblr.com/
As you can see from the name, this blog is a sort of replacement or evolution of TYCCASI consisting of more picture, less words and about the same amount of sass.

The second in via Twitter. You can follow me here: http://twitter.com/caitiecake

And finally, I will be contributing to the wonderful Lovely & Lavish @ http://lovelyandlavish.com/

Don't cry for me Argentina ... I'll leave you with some Boyz II Men as they can sing it better than I'll ever be able to type it. Sing it Boyz!

Happy Hump Day

"barney is more concerned with “dynamic range compression” and “the loudness wars” than the fact that he has shitty taste in music"

It's that time of the week again, when I try to make it a little more bearable for myself by bringing the cute, cuddly, and delightful. Check out http://hipsterpuppies.tumblr.com/ because quite frankly, it is the best.

And Sometimes I .... Muhmuhmuhmuh

I am supposed to be writing two separate papers for two English seminars at the moment - but that's proved to be no fun at all and instead I have come to my blog to gush about Gaga. I finally got to see the Lady in concert in Toronto on Saturday and am thrilled to report that she lived up and even in some cases surpassed my high expectations. There were so many wonderful things about her show that it is impossible to pick only a few to talk about. Her outfits were fabulous, her voice was truly powerful and her mastery of the Piano whilst standing and slapping her ass had me with my jaw on the floor. So my favourite Gaga song has always been Paparazzi and some fan in Ottawa took some amazing videos that give you a good idea of the show and the stage and so I thought I'd show you my favourite parts of the show with them:

Gaga was in tears in T.O. - I was in tears! She also pulled shards of glass out of her piano from her AMA performance ... so you know - Amazing.

Ga-Ga- Ooh-La-Laaa

Boys Boys BOYS!!! - Look at those backup dancers!

Mon Favourite:

Beggin' Brownie

My friend decided to bake brownies for the first time today and was so excited that she sent me a picture ... naturally I exploited this obvious opportunity to mess with her.

Hallowe'en 2009

So this past weekend was the most beloved of holidays, save for Christmas, Hallowe'en. Both my camera and my phone have been acting up: one won't take pictures, the other won't let me transfer pictures I have taken onto my computer (though I suspect this is more Jules' fault than anything else). Anyway, all I have to show for it pictures from other people's cameras (sketch). Hopefully I will be able to transfer the photos from my phone soon. Until then:

I LOVE this picture of Ainsley et Moi - we look so happy and carefree

Also, Calvin looked amazing as Tuxedo Mask!

Dry Hands and Tantrums.

I saw this picture and first thought: Adorable! I didn't think Duffy could be any cuter - but I was wrong. My second thought was of my fellow blogette who, without fail, would throw a tantrum each time she got into my car this summer and there was no hand cream. I'm not running some sort of luxurious limo service woman. Anyway she is a lover of Nivea cream and seeing this made me think of her tub of the stuff and dry hands =D Happy Friday.

Bustin' Makes Me Feel Good!

oh em gee. I am super excited for Hallowe'en! Today I had no class, and as a result I was twiddling my thumbs and finding any excuse to avoid school work. And so I ended up hitting up James Brett for a bangs trim (impulsiveness + bangs = questionable results) and the Dollarama to find some Hallow e'en decor. I was a little disappointed with their selection though - they didn't even have streamers or fake cobwebs...- the eff?!?? Anyway, I ended buying a giant skelly bones (which I obviously put in the "Burt Reynolds Naked Man" pose), a fake bloody handprint and some orange an black balloons - will have to do. My mum's good at sending me Hallow e'en care packages so I've accumulated some decorations which will fill the gaps. And then there's this:

Try JibJab Sendables® eCards today!

Of course if you are in the mood for a good Hallowe'en story there is always the Tale of the Wellington St. Ghost

Pop Electro Opera

November 28, ACC - I IZ GOING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Says Lady Gaga, "The Haus of Gaga had been designing 'The Monster Ball' for premiere in 2010 at the O2 Arena in London, but due to diligent work and preparation, 'The Monster Ball' will begin on November 27 in Montreal. 'The Monster Ball' is a multimedia artistic experience in the style of the first-ever 'pop electro opera.'"

OMG. So Excited.

What I've Learned Thus Far From ARTH 213

Tonight I have a 3 hour night class on Renaissance Art and I thought I'd share with you the sum of what I've learned thus far from a month's worth of Art History class:

People of the Renaissance had just as much attitude as those of the 21st century ... Examples?

Renaissance "Bitch, Please"
Simone Martini

Renaissance Side-eye
Giotto

Renaissance "Why don't you say that to MY FACE!?"
Simone Martini

Mac Myth

First week of classes is finished - yay weekend! Yup, you read correctly - I have Fridays off this semester and you're jealous. I'm a lucky girl. In some respects that is. In others .... well I will be forced to read aloud and translate Chaucer for my Middle English seminar and have already butchered Sir Olfeo in class today. Flashbacks to Latin - cue constant public academic humiliation. Anyway .... guess who is not such a lucky girl? My fellow blogette; her Mac is acting up. I thought Macs were supposed to be wonder magic machines ... guess I thought wrong - thus proving the dangers of independent thought. This sitch with the computer is definitely testing the ability for long distance communication though - thank god for blackberries! .... this all reminds me on my new favourite dancy-poprockelectro song:

Love Long Distance - Gossip (Lurrrrrvvv Ditto's voice)

Related Note: So, while I'm a little surprised that the aforementioned Mac is unreliable I am no fan of them in general. I basically hate macs because when I was in elementary and middle school those fugly coloured mac desktops came out and the school bored (nonsexual freudian slip?!) was like "hey rad - colours - let's buy all new computers, but only in pink and orange." I've never had a Mac at home and I'm sure neither did many of my peers, so WHY the school board insisted on exclusively buying Macs is beyond me. Besides that, they were (and continue to be for me at least) counter intuitive to use and my computer lab classes often ended in confusion and frustration along with some healthy mac hate. And now that I'm in university where pretty much every student owns a laptop, my hatred has grown to encompass the holier-than-thou mac owners ... stfu girl with hot pink mac. I'll readily admit that I am no lover of PCs either, thou. I regularly curse out my Toshiba laptop - It deserves it. But something about the pretentiousness surround Macs and their user irks me.

Less Personal Related Note: while I was looking for a cute picture to put with my post (in the hopes of having the same effect as Bedazzling does to tired old denim) I stumbled upon this random superniched (yeah, I created a word - what) website for lawyers who use macs ... yeah ...pretentiousssssss. Anyway a guest lawyer, moonlighting (very poorly I might add) as a blogger took a sip of haterade then posted about some Microsoft commercials. Alls I can say is he's not doing much for my confidence in his lawyering skills if this is his argument style .... Also probably good he's not in advertising ... I'm pretty sure Mac wouldn't be down with emphasizing the cost margin between your average PC and their fancypants Macbook.
