Hello World! Goodbye Blog!

As you may have guessed by the infrequency of my posting (the last post being almost 2 months ago) I have found little room or desire in my life for the continuation of Take Your Carriage Clock and Shove It. This is not to say I won't one day return, much like the boy-king Leonidas in 300, but just that at this moment I have found other outlets for which to express my random thoughts and experiences in the blogosphere.

As you can see from the name, this blog is a sort of replacement or evolution of TYCCASI consisting of more picture, less words and about the same amount of sass.

House Cleaning Blues

This morning I woke up and found a load of dishes in the sink. Everyone has been very busy with school this week and things have started to pile up in the last few days... It's not so bad but I did feel a bit like Betty Boop and was wishing for my own Grampy as I filled the sink with scorching hot water and pulled on my rubber gloves in preparation for dish duty....

Speaking of Betty Boop and Grampy - are there things from your childhood that make you question whether they were real or imagined? The clip below has haunted my thoughts for years - was it real or did I imagine this craziness? punch from a chandelier? .... Thankfully it's all real and all on Youtube.

Atlas Holds the Heavens

This video is kind of a legend in it's own right and doesn't much if any explanation, suffice to say: you watch - you laugh. But I have to say that this morning I had the volume turned off on my computer and was listening to my ipod and when I clicked to watch this clip, the Dixie Cups' Chapel of Love came on and it just made this whole whole episode so much more amazing. Try it: It actually follows the beat. just restart the song when it ends (yes this is my bargain basement style dubbing - the recession is hard for all of us!)

This will probably be my new desktop background when I get around to being bored of the one I have currently.  I saw this picture on Cute Overload and was joyful. What made it even more wonderful? Although, I guess they decided to give it a different story on the blog, the file name was "Prosciutto, Pancetta and Sir Hammy Reenact Flashdance" I could not have thought of a more perfect caption myself. oink - It's a typical Tuesday.

When I saw the Headline: Where the Cougars Are in my september National Geographic (which I've just gotten a chance to read now at Thanksgiving) my brain first processed the word cougar as in a woman of a certain age or maturity who dates much younger men. WHAT IS WRONG WITH ME?! Also, what is wrong with the definition of Cougar on urban dictionary? I'm awful at spelling - this entry is criminal. For shame!

Tears of a Rapper

I know this delayed, but it seems as if the whole internet is okay with inflating this Kanye West Gate thing into an internet phenomenon and as such - meme, so I figure it's okay if I just add my own little patch to the quilt of it. I am over it, I was over it the day after it happened - I think everyone else should be too, but looking at some of these clever little pictures makes me giggle and I am not ashamed. Watching that clip of Kanye on Leno (awful and at points I felt exploitative and inappropriate) made me think immediately of the perpetually jovial Flight of the Conchords and their Hurt Feelings, please enjoy with some of my favourite creations as a result of Kanye-Gate 2009... and remember kids ... rappers are vincible.

AAden: Aw Hells No Photo

Today I spent an actual-factual full day working my buns off doing finance stuff, so when I got home naturally I wanted to denumb my brain by looking on my trashy gossip websites. And what do I find?! These unintentionally hilarious shots of all the Gosselins playing nice .... well almost all. No surprise, the resident sourpuss, too-cool-for-school, all around "bitch, please" member of the troupe, AAden, was doing his best "I am NOT here" poses for the cameras. But you can't fool me AAden - I've used green, sorry: apple, coloured arrows to point this little him (trying to get out of the shots) out.

I'll give him props for his craftiness though .... examples:

Today, I went to get a pedicure for the first time. My feet are VERY ticklish. I reflexively kicked the poor lady in the face, as I wet my pants. FML

Well who hasn't had this happen, am I right?

But actually my feet are also very ticklish and sometimes the lady giving me a pedicure will giggle as I focus on trying to keep my knee-jerk reaction under control.
