<3 <3 <3
Drool. I really, really want to live here. Details.

Watch the Cupola Film and prepare to lust after this penthouse that mixes classic and modern finishes.

Of course this is but a dream for the majority of us but just think, some lucky person is actually going to live there! everyday they'll get to wake up in that cupola. Jealous.

Pillow Post.

Good afternoon weekend warriors! I'm taking a break from reading Lady Audley's Secret, which is very enjoyable, to bring you a post about pillows! I absolutely love these pillows from Helkatdesign. Hand painted and sewn Brit-style throw pillows, could you ask for anything more.

Swedish Abode

Today my fellow blogette confided in me her desire to move to Sweden ... maybe she could live here ... and I could visit.
Also from Fresh Home, THIS is pretty much my dream home.

So luxurious. The whole padded wall behind the bed is taking my dreams of a fabric headboard and going to far beyond! Happy Friday!!

My Pantry is Empty

I have no food to eat. Okay so that is not entirely true, but I have no food of the kind that I want to eat. I definitely need to hit up my favourite store, besides Shopper's, that would be Loblaws. In the meantime, Let me dream a little dream of this darling dining room. I like the wallpaper in this room .... and everything else. I wish I had woken up this morning, sauntered into this room and devoured a breakfast of crepes ... I know - fanciful.

Grey All Around

It's very grey out today. It looks like it is permanently 5 in the evening. Odd.

I think I would enjoy it more if I lived in a place that looked like this <--

In other news, The heat has finally been turned on by my downstairs neighbours - maybe I won't wake up with a cold nose tomorrow. One can only hope.

Also - have been listening to Chauffeur "Soles of fire"

I know, it is so commercial (literally, it is about Gucci shoes) and so .... rap. But it is also so Mark Ronson, so I obviously adore it.

lounging

just lounging around (I wish in the room above) trying to inspire myself to work and listening to Jian Ghomeshi interview Gossip (love the southern accents!) on Q. I so adore Beth Ditto - she so funny! Also, the music! Q's chosen to play Heavy Cross, but I have another remix version which I think is also super so here it is:

Fireplace sans Fire: It be tricksy

This be so tricksy. Not really, but tricksy is Google's choice word of the day and I thought to myself: self, there is an opportunity to employ this word in a new and instantly loveable catchphrase, no? Unsurprisingly, I'm sure the rest of the world with disagree. But one must soldier on - this is sort of tricksy in a way because the designer has repurposed this lovely fireplace to display vases with fresh flowers - darling. You can check out other ideas for fireplaces sans fire at apartment therapy if you feel so inclined.

Mirror, Mirror on the Wall ... and all that nonsense

Are these really making a comeback? Part of me hopes so because I've always thought that when done tastefully, a mirrored wall could be wonderfull. A while back I posted a shot of a kitchen with a mirrored backsplash which I loved and now here is a shot with the whole wall. I still have so apprehension though. A year or two ago I was watching Moving Up and one house had mirrored walls and there seemed to be a concesus that the very idea was gross, passe and had to go first. I felt I had been personally put in my place since I kinda like the old way ... maybe people are starting to see things my way. also look out for scrunchies. I swear those things are gonna make a major comeback and when they do ... I will be there! Not because I like them, just becuase of the I-Told-You-So factor.

Afternoon Delight

Just sitting here, drinking tea, trying to drag my eyes away from my computer long enough to engage in reading one of the couple of novels I've started recently and letting my itunes library play on shuffle. This song popped up and I thought: "oh how delightful. I haven't heard you in what must be close to a year. heart."

Also, settled on the bed I want for life: from Vioski

Prophetic Design

This seems like a bad idea to me.

The only thing I see coming out of this is some sort of warped self fulfilling prophesy.

Mogg etc.

It's Friday and for the second day in a row I've not had to work at all - this is both a blessing and a curse. A blessing because I have no responsibilities and can do whatever my heart desires. A curse because I can't actually do anything I want, in fact there is not much I can do I am pretty much stuck inside. So I've watched an episode of Gangland, read a bit, dyed my hair fiery red, and am currently listening to 94.7 Wave Jazz. Yeah, jazz: I used to hate jazz, but this is smooth jazz which is in a completely different category from regular jazz. plus there is the added bonus that I have never heard any of the music I'm listening to now. Also currently flicking through pages and pages of the Mogg Blogg laughing periodically, cringing just as often ... the pictures are some of my favourite crazy designs I've looked at so far today =D

New Dream Bedroom

Dream rooms, like dreams themselves, change daily, or nightly I guess. Today, this room is my ideal bedroom ... who knows if it wil last 'till tomorrow, furthermore, who cares?

Dream Home # Infinity

Okay, so it is Friday and it is exactly a week since I last posted - criminal. Anyway, the fact is that I've nothing original to post about so I'm just going to steal from other blogs for the time being. Steal really is it stealing? Share is perhaps a better word to describe what I do. Today, for example I will share with you these pictures of a home in Vancouver from Fresh Home. I love this site it always has random new furniture designs some of which are gorgeous, others are questionable. I love this home in particular not for the furniture, which to be honest does nothing for me, but for the architecture and layout. very open concept, huge windows - fabulous.

Also finding fabulous today and for the past 2 weeks (ahah pardon the pun - but it's true!) is Two Weeks by Grizzly Bear. Happy, happy song! Enjoy:

Pristine Clean White

ooh la la! very chic, very white, very ... princessy. These snapshots are dreamy and that bed is to die for! That crystal clear desk cannot be that comfy or practical though, at least not for me. I would peg this room as more suited to a swanky hotel than a liveable home, but I'm not complaining either way.

It's Sunday which means the weekend is drawing to the inevitable close I have feared since Friday at 4. Boo hoo, where does the time go? Well, This weekend it ended up being spent on various things: a visit with a friend, a backyard barbeque with neighbours, UP in 3D with sister and a little bit of work. That's a nice even balance I suppose.

Thoughts on a Windy Thursday

Sometimes when I'm riding my bike fast on a particularly windy day I feel like Macaulay Culkin in The Pagemaster.

I like the neckrest pillows in this photo. This bed is short on style but high on function - really the most practical I've come across on any design blog.

1 more sleep till the weekend ....

June 1st

Maybe this month I will break my own most posts in a month record. Okay self, I accept that challenge. I should be careful that I don't binge blog too much though, I need to pace myself.

Some things to share with you today in celebration of the beginning of the 6th month of the year:

  • Gingerbread Ka Mate Haka (check out the real one >here< I watched quite a few of these and by far the best part is the facial expressions from the other teams. Also, the New Zealand All Blacks are now my favourite team of any sport, anywhere.
  • Total Eclipse of the Heart (Literal Version) ..... from Dlisted (click!click!)
  • My Dream Apartment ....from Apartment Therapy New York (click me beyotch)
  • Cool Guys Don't Look at Explosions (specifically the JJ Abrams Keyboard Solo) .... from MTV (click me)

Yes & Now: Shower

So I want this shower. end of story. Although .... the whole open concept idea in this apartment is kind of bachelor paddish ... not too keen on that bit.
