dark wood living, white kitchen

This Kitchen/Dining Room look so lovely and clean. I don't know that I would be able to live with this kind of design forever - with such sharp contrast - but I definitely like the idea of it.

The Ominous Puddle

Okay, there are 3 purposes for this post.
1) I wanted to share another couple of rooms that I thought were lovely and summer-like. I love the blue and white stripes on the wall of the first bedroom and the built in bookcase in the attic/loft room of the second.
2) I wanted to vent about something that really bothers me: Puddles. oh yeah they are funtimes when you have wellies on and are experiencing a relatively carefree mood(swing), but when you've made the poor decision of wearing runners and you're umbrella is broken and the Kingston wind has blown your hair into something that ressembles Amy Winehouse's crackhive (thanks dlisted) only without the element of cool intention - puddles are your worst nightmare. I decided to take a video of one puddle in particular which I am convinced forms purely to mock me on the roof on the buidling which my bedroom window looks out on. It turned out to be unintentionally ominous/hilarious because St. George's Cathedral's bells started bellowing when I started recording... now it looks like it could be the intro to some poorly crafted, self-indulgent indie documentary (Not the Lisa Ling kind of Documentary, which I worship).

Whenever it rains, the water gathers and stays there for days and dirt collects and it's gross and I have the urge to kick out the screen in my window and take a giant squeegee and push all the water onto the drive below. (still working on finding a giant squeegee)

3) I just went to my last class of 3rd year! Wowza time flies when you're super stressed, jittery from coffee, and working your buns of for a decent mark in all your classes. Last night I pretty much ended the semester by going to the Comedy group's (from my CLST 312 class) performance of Lysistrata at the Time to Laugh Comedy Club. But I won't go too much into that until I find pictures ... because let me tell you ... there is no way I will be able to put into words what went down ... and UP (=D) on that stage last night.

If You're Feeling Summery

Spring - a - ling. Clearly I am way too preoccupied with sunshine right now to do any work. I love it! In kingston it precipitates hardcore ALL school year long and then as soon as I'm gone it gets busy getting beautiful with sunshine and a warm breeze.... and tourists. Last summer, after moving from my old digs to a new apartment basically downtown and two blocks from the waterfront, Ivana and I made a trip up to Kingston to chill and act like tourists. We went shopping, visited the Penn museum and then Ivana tried to get in the Penn itself. We walked by the water, we went on the Haunted walk of kingston - it was legen .... wait for it ... dary. Anyway the sun just got me in the mood for Spring, Summer, whatever and I'm totally just using my blog to postpone work. (t a n g e n t a l e r t: WTF is my prof thinking giving us 3 assignments due on the last day of class! I'm supposed to just stay in and do homework all effing night while everyone else celebrates the end of the year!? Well I DON'T THINK SO - I am going out and there is no way you are going to stop ME! well...I promise to get my homework done first ... but THEN!!!! t a n g e n t o v e r)
P.S. I'm pretty sure my textbook is NOT suppose to literally fall apart while I'm flipping through it. I guess that's what you get for buying used ... and maybe it's a little bit my fault for the way I treated it .... maybe

anyway ....

Here's what I'm listening to: Men's Needs by The Cribs.
(click the album cover)
This song is a couple years old now but man it puts me in the mood for summertime.

10 Degrees and Sunny!

wow spring is really here ... at least for today! And of course I'm stuck inside working on what else? ... Latin. If it's lovely where you are get out there and soak up those beautiful rays! oh SUMMER .... It won't be long ...(Damn you Evan Rachel Wood! Everytime I encounter that phrase I think of her god-awful cover of that Beatles song for that horrible movie ACROSS THE UNIVERSE ....) - wow that was a lot of rage just there ...

A Rainbow of Books

Oh. My. God. I just realized other people are as neurotic (read: amazing) as ME! whoever thought to stack books by colour on their shelf first is my new design idol ... When I grow up (actually ... not just age-wise) I'm going to get me a sweet ass bookcase that takes up an entire wall of either my house in Hawaii, my castle in a rural part of the U.K. or what will be my main digs somewhere in the GTA and totally fill it up with books arranged by colour. Switch in that pug for a border terrier and you are looking at my future study - because when I grow up I will also be classy enough to have a room in my home called a study.

END of BLOG

Well it's been a good couple-month run, but I've decided that me and my blog must now part ways. There's been laughing, crying (not really but for the sake of the moment indulge me) and everything in between, but I've come to realize that ... April Fools! I know an end of blog would upset maybe 3 people max (including myself) but whateves. I love my little corner of the internet world and I am here to stay ... at least while it still interests me =D.

The mug above is one of my favourites and while drinking my coffee this morning I thought I'd pay it the respect it deserves by taking its picture and posting it here. I have no idea where you would even begin to find another mug this awesome... so good luck.
