In the Navy
In these depths of winter doldrums it is important to look forward to the brighter, lighter, sunnier season of Summer. And what better way to do that than to day dream about what one might wear if they could wear anything they wanted without thought for price? Tis true, I probably (read: definitely) can't afford anything in this little fashion spread, but dammit a girl can dream can't she?
I am a recent convert to Polyvore. My friend has mentioned the site before but I was never bored enough to make my way over there - also I felt like if I did it would not end well - it would turn to obsession over what should be paired with what and how it should be displayed. Well, I am throwing caution to the wind. Here's to pretending to be my very own fashion editor! here is my sorry attempt at fancy day and night looks for on the water living or vacationing.

And Sometimes I .... Muhmuhmuhmuh
I am supposed to be writing two separate papers for two English seminars at the moment - but that's proved to be no fun at all and instead I have come to my blog to gush about Gaga. I finally got to see the Lady in concert in Toronto on Saturday and am thrilled to report that she lived up and even in some cases surpassed my high expectations. There were so many wonderful things about her show that it is impossible to pick only a few to talk about. Her outfits were fabulous, her voice was truly powerful and her mastery of the Piano whilst standing and slapping her ass had me with my jaw on the floor. So my favourite Gaga song has always been Paparazzi and some fan in Ottawa took some amazing videos that give you a good idea of the show and the stage and so I thought I'd show you my favourite parts of the show with them:Gaga was in tears in T.O. - I was in tears! She also pulled shards of glass out of her piano from her AMA performance ... so you know - Amazing.
Ga-Ga- Ooh-La-Laaa

I Effing Told You So ....
Man oh Man. So I've sort of recovered from one of my most humiliating class moments ever (to sum it up: yesterday, involved Chaucer and a red face) and I thought I'd blog! I've been just killing time on the internet since last night and stumbled across This:
I hate (read:love) to say I Told You So, but .... I EFFING TOLD YOU SO!!! click me for proofokay so I'm a little behind American Apparel, but not really because they haven't caught on yet as far as I can tell - one can only wait - and wait I will....

HBC Olympic Wear

Today the new outfits for Canada's Olympians and anyone else who wishes to shell out for some good old national pridewear were revealed - *lacklustre sigh*. I've posted the only pieces so far which I would consider buying. At least they are better than those fugly shirts the Bay tried to unload on an unsuspecting Canadian public for the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing - those were a travesty. Also, As I was perusing the shirts I noticed a design on one of the shirts that looked awfully familiar....

Top 3 ...Reasons to Buy Ed Hardy
Woo it has been a while, no? I had a bit of a hard time coming up with a Top 3 this time - nothing in particular has struck my fancy for some time now. But where there is a will, there is a way. Today's Top 3 is brought to you by my conscience. To elaborate: the otehr day I was in style sense, which has been under particular attack from goods by Ed Hardy, and I saw a little cardboard sign with the Ed Hardy logo - I wanted so badly to take it. It was in the clearance section unaccompanied by actual merchandise and didn't seem to be of any use so I thought - why can't I have it? But I didn't take it .... because of my conscience. Well that and the fact that my purse was too small to fit it discreetly.

Wear is that post?

Working on a longer more thoughtful post I swear, but I've been sidelined by a 89 pg. debrief that's going to be my main companion for the rest of the evening - so instead of delivering that promised post, here is a short one with a link to my new favourite website (honestly this shiz changes weekly)

Betsey, I Do Adore
Gorgeous weather for the first day of summer and FATHER'S DAY! It was so gross yesterday and I think I should know. I spent about 2 hours on out in the rain watching my dad play rugby yesterday afternoon. Sue and I started with a "Keep Dry at all Costs" policy by which we brilliantly huddled under impromptu umbrella tents on camping chairs. This policy was soon abandoned by me for the more practical, if a little more wet "Avoid Rugby Ball at All Costs" policy. I can't help it. As soon as the action gets close I get antsy and want to be able to sashay(read: book it) out of the way should a ball come hurdling towards me - which it did - multiple times. The game was enjoyable enough to watch, given that I don't know the rules (I've figured out some...) mostly I made wise cracks about tha various happenings on the field - that guy you looked like he was doing the doggie paddle on his back, the oppositions names for their plays: i.e. igloo 19 (wtf?!), and the one guy who sounded like he was hacking on a bone for a good 5 minutes before the ref asked if he was alright. Good Times.
in the sun, realizing I was turning into a lobster and ducking for cover, back outside with freshly applied SPF60 sunscreen, etc. This afternoon is where it got exciting. With a big steak dinner overwith I decided to busy myself at the mall (never a good solution) so after dropping my brother off at hockey Laura and I headed that direction. After Meandering around and finding nothing I stumbled into the goldmine that is StyleSense. I love the thinking behind StyleSense. It is run by Winners but is purely accessories! Of course I looked at shoes then bags but ultimately ended up in the sunglass section where I discovered the best thing ever. BETSEY JOHNSON sunglasses! I La-La-La Betsey Johnson. No, I could probably never pull off any of her clothes but they are so much fun and her sunglasses are no different. I obviously could not control myself and bought 2 pairs - but I am NOT ashamed. They are the raddest sunglass, excepting my Ray Bans, EVER! And becuase Style Sense is so wonderful - They were more than 1/2 of their original retail value- WHAT UP! I remember first seeing Betsey on Fashion Television years ago and thinking - she shall be my favourite designer that I will never get to wear, oh how funny it is now she's been made available to me! Hope everyone else is having just as enjoyable a weekend! ta.Topics: family, fashion|smashion, Oakville

Um, Yes Please.
Photograph shot by the one and only Karl Lagerfeld for his Chanel Fall/Winter 2009-10 Cruise Collection. I truly wish passengers on modern cruise ships were required to wear such things ... the Lido deck dance party would = amazing if this were the case.

Best. Hat. Ever.

Today was gross weather-wise again. I was working feverishly all day at the computer which inspired mobility once I finally got home. I've been toying with the idea of rearranging some furniture in the very small bedroom I share with my younger sister in order to maximize space. I decided today would be the day that I started that process. I roped my sister into working on her stuff and while I was poking my nose into her side of the closet I found this awesome hat that was part of one of her dancing costumes from years passed. I quickly shut her side of the closet door and put it atop my head bursting out of the closet and performing an Ashlee Simpsonesque Jig to UB40's Red Red Wine. It was all very surreal. It wasn't until I did a little impromptu photo shoot and had tried on some tassled cuffs that my sister admitted the feathers were actually part of a headband that didn't belong on that hat. I was devastated. End of story.
