A time honoured tradition as meaningful as it is silly, the Christmas crackers is one of my favourite Christmastime delights. This year, as in many years gone by, I helped to make the ones we and some of our friends' families will be cracking open before their Christmas feasts. They are so simple to make and are a lovely gift as you can personally choose what you want to put in them for each recipient. My camera is MIA and I'm a bit pressed for time these days so

If you don't have the time or the crafty know-how to pull these together, I highly recommended buying some musical Christmas crackers - they are absolutely hilarious. Every cracker in the set contains a different single note whistle and one person gets to conduct as everyone must blow their whistle at the correct time - omgsomuchfun.
